Aborted Ad Click Prevention

Tapper’s Aborted Ad Click Prevention feature detects and blocks suspicious click patterns caused by aborted ad clicks. These occur when an ad click is registered, but the page does not fully load, and no user activity (e.g., scrolls, clicks) is recorded.

Why It Matters

Aborted clicks can stem from:

Ad Fraud: Bots mimicking human behavior without meaningful engagement.
Technical Issues: Slow website performance, script errors, or poor user network connectivity.

Left unchecked, these clicks waste ad spend and disrupt campaign performance.

How It Works

Detection: The system flags ad clicks where the script fails to load, and no on-page events occur.
Threshold: By default, clicks are flagged at 5 aborted clicks per hour (configurable).
Blocking: Once identified, these invalid clicks are immediately blocked to prevent further budget waste.

Benefits

Stop Paying for Invalid Clicks: Eliminate wasted spend caused by fraudulent or incomplete clicks.
Identify Underlying Issues: Spot potential website or network performance problems early.
Optimize Campaign Efficiency: Ensure your ad budget is spent on real user engagement.

Customizing Your Settings

To adjust the threshold for suspicious ad click detection:

Navigate to your Protection Script > Manage Detection Rules.
Scroll down to Aborted Ad Click
Set the desired minimum number of suspicious sessions per hour.
Save your changes, and Tapper will apply the updated threshold automatically.
