Audience Exclusion

This guide covers setting up an Audience Exclusion in Google Ads using Tapper’s invalid traffic list to exclude potentially fraudulent users.

Invalid traffic user list is created and managed by Tapper when the integration is set up.

Campaign Settings

When creating a new Video campaign, navigate through the standard campaign setup steps in Google Ads. Define your campaign goals, budget, targeting settings (location, demographics), and ad creative assets (images, video, headlines, descriptions).

Exclusions

Once your campaign is set up, navigate to the Audiences tab.

Locate the Exclusions section and click on the Add Exclusions button. This will open a modal where you will select Ad Group you wish to exclude invalid audience from.

Create Google Ads Audience

After selecting the relevant Ad Group (Exclusion happens for each Ad Group separately), drawer will open where you will be prompted to create new audience. Name it Tapper - Invalid Audience and under Exclusions select Tapper - Invalid Traffic List.

If you already have created an audience previously, Select an audience modal will open where you will either, select Tapper - Invalid Audience, if already created, or press + New Audience button and create an audience as described above.

Click Save

Once you’ve reviewed and confirmed your audience, click Save to save and attach audience to the Ad Group.

Additional Notes

If you cannot see the Tapper - Invalid Traffic List segment when setting a an audience exclusion, check that its membership status is set to Open in the Audience Manager tool.
