Device Blocking

Sophisticated fraudsters frequently change their IP addresses, attempting to deceive your analytics by appearing as a different user with each visit. Due to Google’s regulations, blocking a device directly is not possible. However, Tapper addresses this limitation by identifying devices through their unique ID.

Each time a device, whether it's a computer, smartphone, or tablet, accesses your landing page via paid ads, Tapper assigns it a unique Device ID Fingerprint. This fingerprint remains constant and cannot be modified, regardless of user actions. Unlike cookies, which can be deleted, this ID is permanent. Using this Device ID, Tapper can track any new IP addresses used by that specific device.

The fingerprint is created by analyzing various device attributes (such as brand, model, screen size, update time, fonts, colors, etc.). These combined characteristics ensure that no two devices are exactly alike, allowing us to identify repeat offenders who attempt to evade detection by changing IPs.

When Tapper detects fraudulent activity from a device, even if it uses multiple IPs, Tapper blocks every IP address associated with that fraudulent device.

Note: To have this capability enabled, make sure that the Tapper monitoring script has been added to your landing pages.
