How does Tapper exclude invalid IPs and users?
Tapper automatically applies exclusions across Google Ads to stop invalid users and IP addresses from continuing to waste your budget. Depending on the campaign type, we use the exclusion methods Google supports through their API.
Below is a breakdown of how Tapper protects each campaign type:
Search Campaigns
- IP exclusions – Blocks fraudulent or competitor IPs from seeing and clicking your ads.
- User-list exclusions (campaign level) – Excludes known invalid users across the entire campaign.
- User-list exclusions (ad group level) – Adds an extra layer of precision by excluding invalid users at ad group level.
- Conversion value rules – Adjusts how conversions from suspicious traffic are valued, so they don’t skew bidding strategies.

- Tapper pushes exclusions automatically as soon as invalid traffic is detected.
- Where Google does not provide API support (e.g. Performance Max or Video Views for IP exclusions), Tapper applies exclusions through the supported methods available.
