Why Tapper requires the Meta page owner for setup

To activate Tapper’s invalid traffic protection on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), we require the Meta Page Owner, not just the Ad Account Admin, to connect the page. This is due to how Meta grants permissions through its API.

Why Page Owner Access Is Needed

Meta’s API limits certain actions to users who have full admin access to the Meta Page. These actions include:

  • Creating and managing exclusion audiences
  • Syncing those audiences with active ad campaigns
  • Monitoring engagement and behavior data tied to the page

Ad Account Admin access alone is not sufficient to perform these actions.

What Tapper Does Once Connected

With Page Owner access, Tapper can:

  • Detect bots, fake users, and click farms in real time
  • Create exclusion audiences to block these users before they see or click on your ads
  • Sync these audiences directly with your Meta ad campaigns for active protection

Without Page Owner access, Tapper cannot complete this integration or provide full protection on Meta.

Who Needs to Join the Setup Call

To enable full protection across platforms, the following roles should be present:

  • Meta Page Owner (Admin)
  • Google Ads Admin
  • Google Tag Manager Admin

Once access is granted, Tapper operates in the background to continuously detect and block invalid traffic across your campaigns.
