# Why Tapper requires the Meta page owner for setup

To activate Tapper’s invalid traffic protection on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), we require the **Meta Page Owner,** not just the Ad Account Admin, to connect the page. This is due to how Meta grants permissions through its API.
## Why Page Owner Access Is Needed

Meta’s API limits certain actions to users who have full admin access to the **Meta Page**. These actions include:
* Creating and managing exclusion audiences
* Syncing those audiences with active ad campaigns
* Monitoring engagement and behavior data tied to the page

Ad Account Admin access alone is not sufficient to perform these actions.
## What Tapper Does Once Connected

With Page Owner access, Tapper can:
* Detect bots, fake users, and click farms in real time
* Create exclusion audiences to block these users before they see or click on your ads
* Sync these audiences directly with your Meta ad campaigns for active protection

Without Page Owner access, Tapper cannot complete this integration or provide full protection on Meta.
## Who Needs to Join the Setup Call

To enable full protection across platforms, the following roles should be present:
* Meta Page Owner (Admin)
* Google Ads Admin
* Google Tag Manager Admin

Once access is granted, Tapper operates in the background to continuously detect and block invalid traffic across your campaigns.
